Liz Claiborne - Digital Collection

Angelina Richardson

For this collection, I focused on the textiles and ready to wear design that follow the movement of the worlds state of being. The theme of the garments are influenced by the techniques I have used, that are displayed on my process page. They include weaving, dying techniques, and the type of textiles. I wanted to focus on natural dyeing verses acid dyeing, with the weight of pigment being displayed in both techniques, which ties into the name of “fire and ice”. Since the fashion is the third polluter of the world, I choose to put my garments surrounding climate change. I have the croquis displayed with different signs showing a protest marching down the street with the garments on display, which lead to how I would let them be displayed in a group activity with communities. The community. Models and designers will share feelings about climate change and producing zero waste items to use in the future. I believe that if Liz was still alive, she would be front and center of this new sustainable wave of fashion. She has done a lot to the environment with giving money to charities for animals. She and her husband were heroes of these animals. It's time to be the heroes of fashion.
